Three Valentine's flower arrangements

Getting Ready for Valentine’s Day

One of the busiest days of the year for a florist is Valentine’s Day, and that should come as no surprise! Fresh & fragrant flowers have long been used to express love around the world. There’s nothing we like more than helping our clients show their love for their partners (or themselves)!

Last year was our first Valentine’s in business, and we had a great time popping up at The Public Market in Emeryville and at an office building in Downtown Oakland. This year, we’re sad that we won’t be able to do pop-ups. But we’re excited to deliver flowers all over Oakland and the SF Bay Area, as well as offer curbside pickup at our studio.

I started preparing for this flower holiday as soon as I returned to the shop after the Holiday break. After all my years of experience in the floral industry, I have a lot of notes and ideas about how I want to design & deliver flowers for my clients.

This year, I chose to center my designs around some really beautiful product including fancy fringe carnations, roses, anemones, and tulips. I love designing with unique flowers, but I love to include romantic & sexy classics in my designs for Valentine’s Day.

After editing all the photos of my designs in Lightroom (I have a new-found respect for all the work photographers put into editing photos), I posted them in our shop. Hopefully you’ll find something there that helps you celebrate your love for your partner (or for yourself!) And of course we’re always happy to make a custom arrangement.

There’s a lot of work to do as the day approaches: lots of bucket washing, phone answering, flower ordering, and delivery route-mapping.

But there’s something truly magical and special about sending & receiving flowers. Flowers make us smile! And I can’t wait to be part of bringing those smiles to you and your loved ones this year.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
